This "Pull Yourself Together" photoshoot was such a fun full-circle moment for me. The model and I actually met in college, so getting to work with her again years later in the Kansas City studio felt extra special. Right from the start, the energy was collaborative and natural, and we were both excited to bring this surreal concept to life.
We shot in the West Bottoms studio, which gave us the perfect moody space to play with lighting. The concept centered around a surreal illusion where the model was reattaching herself or "pulling herself together". With creative posing, direction, and post-production magic, the final images turned out eerie, bold, and unlike anything else I've done.
This session really reminded me how photography can stretch beyond traditional portraits into full storytelling. Having that personal connection with the model made it even more rewarding, and together we created something imaginative and unforgettable. Kansas City is full of opportunities for creative studio work like this, and I love helping people explore bold concepts that push the boundaries of portrait photography.
